Pickering have increased the stand-off voltage values for its prevalent small-size 104 Series high voltage reed relays with the addition of a 4kV model. The newly introduced version has a 1000VDC stand-off voltage improvement on the previous 104 Series product offering.
The additional 4kV stand-off voltage option adds many benefits to the 104 Series relays such as improved performance, option to improve the equipment specification and an increased high voltage isolation protection margin for extra safety and security.
Four types of dry switches are available, the relays can be stacked on 0.25 inch pitch and are capable of standing-off 1.5, 2, 3 or 4kV DC. The 3kV and 4kV versions benefit from an increased clearance between the switch and coil pins to accommodate the higher voltage. Higher voltage ratings are available upon request, contact Anglia for details.
The 104 Series features one or two switches in a single package, 1 Form A, 2 Form A and 1 Form B configurations as well as 5 V, 12 V or 24 V coils with optional internal diode. An internal mu-metal screen also eliminates problems that can be experienced due to magnetic interaction when the relays are closely stacked. Mercury wetted devices are also available for applications where bounce free switching is required, these are rated at 1500 volts DC minimum stand-off & 500 volts DC switching at up to 50 watts.

As standard, the 104 Series also come with the Pickering 25+ years product longevity promise where the reed relays are manufactured and supported for more than 25 years from introduction. Most other manufacturers discontinue parts as sales decline over time, Pickering recognise this can create a great deal of unnecessary additional cost and resource for companies having to redesign and maintain supply hence why they offer the product longevity promise.
The Pickering 104 Series high voltage isolation reed relays are ideal for use in a broad range of applications including Semiconductor Testing, Electric Vehicle Testing, Solar PV, Mass Spectrometry, Medical Equipment, Mining Gas Analysis, Transformer and Cable Testing or any other automatic test equipment where high voltages are involved. In addition, where mains voltages are switched, for example to control and isolate S.C.R. or triac gates, the devices are an ideal choice.
