Murata has developed the world's most distinctive surface mount piezoelectric sounder for automotive and industrial applications. To meet the demands of automotive and industrial applications, Murata applied its unique materials technology and high-level manufacturing processes to produce a surface mount piezoelectric sounder specifically for these markets, resulting in a new sounder that yields four times the sound of previous Murata products, an increase of 10~12dB.
The PKMCS1818E20A0-R1 surface mount piezoelectric sounder features a compact low profile size measuring just 18.0 x 18.0 x 8.0mm, the sounder is compatible with reflow soldering processes and is supplied in tape and reel packaging making it suitable for high volume manufacturing.
As well as compact size the sounders are very lightweight at under 1g and have low power consumption, typically only a tenth of comparable electromagnetic components, making them an ideal choice for portable devices. The simple structure of the PKMCS1818E20A0-R1 which utilises a piezoelectric element makes these sounders very reliable and because they have no magnet or coil there is no electromagnetic noise produced and therefore no impact on surrounding circuits.
The PKMCS1818E20A0-R1 sounder can be driven using a input voltage of 18Vo-p max and has an output sound pressure level of 100dB (typ) @ 10cm, 12Vo-p, operating temperature range is -40°C to 105ºC.
