Murata have introduced the NFG0QHB series of common mode noise filters, designed for high-speed differential signal lines such as those used on USB, DVI Display Port and HDMI interfaces.
Transferring high-speed signals, without loss, through high-speed differential interfaces, needs good noise suppression and high cut-off frequency. The NFG0QHB_HS2 Series, from Murata, are multilayer-type, common mode noise filters, for high-speed differential interfaces such as USB4 (40 Gbps), USB3.2 Gen1/2 (5/10 Gbps) and HDMI2.1 (12 Gbps). The filters also have a common mode noise suppression effect (maximum at 2.4GHz, 3.7GHz and 5.4GHz), which is designed to match line impedance, and prevents adverse effects on the signal in high-speed differential lines (upper cut-off frequency).
Typical Common Mode Insertion Loss Characteristic
The filters are extremely compact, housed in a 025020 SMD package they measure just 0.65 x 0.5 x 0.3mm, allowing them to even be integrated into data lines within cable assemblies. The NFG0QHB series have a rated voltage of 5Vdc and a withstanding voltage of 12.5Vdc, and a rated current of 100mA.
Equivalent Circuit
The NFG0QHB series are available in 3 impedance options, 5, 9 and 15 Ohm (@100MHz) all with a rated current of 100mA, they have an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
Key Features
The NFG0QHB series of common mode noise filters are ideal for consumer and industrial applications using high-speed data interfaces such as digital displays, optical inspection cameras, communication equipment (cellular phones), Notebook PC, data processing and instrumentation.
