Murata has launched highest power density Mono Block type 20A and 6A DC-DC point of load (POL) converters. These new products achieve the small size and high reliability that is required by communication base stations for small cells. In addition to being suitable for use in small cells and other communication equipment, these products can also be used in a wide range of other applications, including optical transmission systems, network security devices, industrial and entertainment equipment for gaming.
Communication base stations for small cells intended for use in 5th generation (5G) mobile communications require compact sized DC-DC converters providing prolonged reliability in high-temperature environments.
The Mono Block MYMGK series DC-DC converters (POL) from Murata are compact and achieve a fast transient response in the output voltage as a result of the technology applied in the design of the analog power supply circuit and in the proprietary high heat dissipation packaging. Consequently, sufficient power is possible even at a high environmental temperatures (85°C) at which power supply capacity normally drops, which makes these products ideal in FPGA drive applications that operate at a low core voltage and high current. Required peripheral components are built in, which is effective in saving space, reducing the mounting space by a 50% over equivalent products.
Dimensions
4 devices are available in the MYMGK series with power ratings ranging from 10.8W to 36W, input voltage ranges from 4.4V to 14V and output currents of 6A or 20A.
