The MGJ1 1 Watt DC-DC converters from Murata are compact devices ideal for driving high and low-side gate circuits such as those using IGBTs, MOSFETs and SiC MOSFETs. The MGJ1 is available with asymmetric output voltages, +15 / -5, +15 / -9, or +19 / -5 VDC, allowing optimum drive levels for best system efficiency. Nominal inputs are available in a choice of +5, +12, or +24 VDC.
The MGJ1 series is characterized for high dV/dt immunity, which aids reliable and continued operation in fast switching circuits, and partial discharge performance that contributes to a long service life. Also, the converter’s low input-to-output coupling capacitance, typically 5 pF, assists in reducing the effects of EMI. The MGJ1 series has been characterised for the high isolation requirements commonly seen in bridge circuits used in motor drives and inverters and features an industrial grade temperature rating and construction giving long service life and reliability. The specified operating temperature range of MGJ1 series is -40ºC to +105ºC.
The MGJ1 series suits a broad range of medical applications for which certification to ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 to 2 MOOPs and 2 MOPP’s is pending. The converter also conforms to the UL 60950 (pending) for reinforced insulation (250Vrms) and incorporates 9.3mm creepage and clearance.
