EAO extend popular Series 82 to offer enhanced IP protection and fast mounting, samples available from Anglia

EAO, the expert partner for innovative, intuitive and reliable Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), has extended the robust Series 82 switches with an overmoulded option and M12 connector. The new version is available for selected illuminated pushbuttons within the Series 82 and offers fast mounting as well as complete front and rear IP67 protection.

The IP67 front and rear sealing makes the extended Series 82 suitable for use in extremely harsh operating conditions, for example in the food & beverage industry, where alkaline cleaning agents and corrosion can severely affect HMIs. In addition other external factors such as hard-to-remove dirt, fine dust, along with severe vibrations and blunt impacts are also commonly encountered in heavy duty and special vehicles applications and also require switches that offer a very high level of impact resistance and sealing.

The overmoulded version of the Series 82 is capable of meeting these strict requirements offering reliable enhanced protection. These attractively designed illuminated pushbuttons feature a housing made from SUS 316L stainless steel and a Tritan light guide resistant to cleaning agents. These design features provide protection against wear and ensure consistent clarity of both the dot and the ring illumination.

The switches utilise a robust M12 connector, this connection method saves users time when it comes to mounting as well as enabling a highly resilient HMI connection. The rear of the device is also IP67-compliant thanks to the overmoulding of the switch and connector, ensuring that the HMI has complete and reliable protection. Furthermore the overmoulded version also offers very high resistance to vibrations and impact.

The Series 82 switches are designed to fit a 22mm panel cut out and can be specified with momentary or latching switch action in 4 Ring LED colour options, red, blue, green and white.

The extended Series 82 switches with overmould option and M12 connector are suitable for a wide range of harsh environment applications including industrial machinery and factory equipment, food and beverage industry, off highway & specialist vehicles, elevators, ticketing and vending machines, mass transit systems, marine industry and many others.
