Bourns, a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, has introduced a new line of environmental sensors based on Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) technology. The products offered in the Bourns Precision Sensor (BPS) line are four pressure sensor model families and one humidity sensor model family. The BPS line of sensors has been designed to provide high sensitivity/accuracy, long-term reliability, high temperature capability and certain harsh media compatibility.
Bourns' new sensors feature state-of-the-art technologies that provide the ability to operate in conditions that typically cause many sensors to fail. The BPS110 and BPS120 pressure sensor models deliver extremely accurate ultra-low pressure sensing capabilities for sensitive applications, 0.15 PSI to 1.0 PSI. The pressure sensors are compatible with non-corrosive dry gasses and feature differential and gauge measurement type options. The BPS110/120 families offer fully calibrated and compensated output for more efficient processes as well as long-term stability for reliable repeatability. The BPS110 has an amplified analog output and the BPS120 has a digital I2C output.

The Model BPS130 and BPS140 pressure sensor line features certain harsh media compatibility and high temperature operation with high accuracy. These sensor families offer particularly stable performance over the product's lifespan, and the ability to work with a wide range of pressures, 15 PSI to 500 PSI. The pressure sensors are compatible with certain harsh media, air, liquid and gas, and they offer the option of absolute and gauge measurement type options. The BPS130 and BPS140 lines have an amplified compensated analog output and are both available in a single port configuration while the BPS130 line also offers an option of manifold mount.

The last model in the current BPS line is the BPS230 family which offers precision relative humidity and temperature sensing in a small (2.0 x 2.0 x 0.75 mm) surface mount package. The BPS230 humidity sensor features low current consumption for battery supported applications and low voltage operation compatibility with high reliability over the life of the sensor. The sensors have a digital I²C output and feature a temperature measurement range of -30°C to +100°C and a 0 to 100% Relative Humidity (RH) measurement range with an accuracy of ±3.0% RH.
