STMicroelectronics have released the STM32G071B-DISCO Discovery board as a demonstration and development platform for the STMicroelectronics Arm® Cortex® -M0+ core-based STM32G071RB USB Type-C™ Power Delivery microcontroller. The STM32G071B-DISCO Discovery board is presented with all necessary interfaces for easy connection and interoperability with other USB Type-C™ devices.
The STM32G0 is STMicroelectronics entry-level Arm® Cortex®-M0+ Microcontroller series. The new STM32G0 Series is not simply another Arm® Cortex®-M0+ microcontroller, it sets a new definition of what an efficient microcontroller must offer. This is all about best optimization, down to each and every detail, to offer the best value for your money and allow you to achieve your goals with the minimum BOM cost and the maximum flexibility for upgrades.
The series is offered in 2 variant, the STM32G0x0 Value line is highly competitive in traditional 8-bit and 16-bit markets and embeds an accurate internal clock allowing further cost saving. It eliminates the need to manage different architectures and the associated development overhead. And the STM32G0x1 line provides upgraded features in analog and is IoT ready with upgraded security functions. It offers a wide range of memory sizes, voltage and packages, bringing flexibility to cost-sensitive applications.
The STM32G0x0 Value Line features an Arm® Cortex®-M0+ core and runs at speeds up to 64 MHz. Setting the lowest ever price point, the STM32G0x0 Value Line makes no compromise on what matters. The STM32G0x0 Value Line comes with a very accurate internal clock making the need for an external oscillator redundant, a full set of high performing peripherals such as a faster 12-bit ADC, advanced and flexible timers, calendar RTC and communication peripherals such as the I²C, USART and SPI.
This is a new step forward to combine the need for simple, robust and efficient applications, with a performance much above the existing 8-bit architectures.
The STM32G0x0 Value line covers many memory and pin count combinations down to an 8-pin package with only few competitive devices and thus further enhances the overall cost efficiency of your projects.
Application designers starting with the STM32G0x0 Value Line benefit from being able to upgrade to STM32G0x1 at any time thanks to the full pinout compatibility, or any of the devices in the powerful STM32 portfolio at any time with an extraordinary degree of reusability of tools and application software.
The STM32G0x1 devices offer upgraded capabilities to answer the need for higher performance in analog, low-power operations or more control on secure transactions, such as the IoT applications, home-entertainment products, appliances and industrial equipment. It supports a higher temperature range up to 125 °C and a wide set of package types such as WLCSP, UFBGA, TSSOP, QFP and QFN packages.
STM32G0 features overview
The STM32G0 Series enables the one-architecture-fits-all concept and is ready for tomorrow’s needs, the MCUs are efficient, robust and simple and available with 16 to 512 Kbytes of Flash memory in 8- to 100-pin packages, satisfying the needs of a large variety of applications and segments.
