Murata has launched a compact low cost low power wide area network (LPWAN) wireless module that supports the LoRaWAN long range wireless protocol.
This stand-alone compact module measures just 12.5 x 11.6 x 1.76 mm, is constructed in a metal shielded package and comprises a Semtech SX1276 ultra long range spread spectrum wireless transceiver covering worldwide frequencies and an STMicroelectronics STM32L0 series ARM Cortex M0+ 32 with 192Kbytes Flash memory. An integrated TCXO that has robust low drift thermal characteristics provides an accurate clock source for the RF transceiver. To increase product and network security, the module embeds a secure element (optional).
The Murata CMWX1ZZABZ-078 module has pre-certified radio regulatory approvals for operating in the 868 and 915 MHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) spectrum in most geographical regions of the world.
The normal output power is + 14 dBm but a PA boost function can be selected to increase RF output to + 20dBm for long range applications or those where the end-device is sited in a poor signal location indoors.
The on-board STMicroelectronics MCU includes 192 kB flash and 20 kB RAM, and has enough memory to embed customer applications and host other modulation stacks. In addition, an optional STSAFE secure element can be incorporated into the MCU to enhance the network security capabilities.

STMicroelectronics has unveiled the ST1VAFE3BX, the first dual-function biosensor combining a vertical analog front-end (vAFE) for detecting biopotential signals and a 3-axis ultralow-power accelerometer for motion tracking.
Panasonic have one of the widest ranges of Polymer capacitors available in the industry. Polymer capacitors have excellent frequency characteristics due to their ultra-low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) values; they exhibit low impedance near their resonance point which reduces AC ripple in power circuits.
The SignalBee family of Wire-to-Wire and Wire-to-Board connectors from HIROSE offers a plethora of solutions for signal cable connections, featuring compact size combined with high-end performance.
The G5Q series from OMRON offers a compact, slimline and versatile relay suitable for a wide variety of applications, the G5Q has become a global standard for compact power relays having sold more than 500 million units since its launch in 2001. OMRON have now expanded the series with the latest addition of the G5Q-HR(TV8) for high inrush loads to TV-8 specification.
